Puerto Rico B2B Event

The Professional College of Engineers and Surveyors of Puerto Rico (CIAPR) is our host for the March 7, 2013 Getting Back 2 Business government contracting (govcon) community outreach event. CIAPR was founded in 1938 to ensure the public interest and serve as advisers to the Government on technological issues, adopt and implement professional code of ethics and defend the interests of professional engineering, surveying, and architecture. This prestigious institution, contributes significantly to the task and socio-economic progress of Puerto Rico, and therefore has tremendous social responsibility.  Each of the professions they represent the responsibility with great enthusiasm, a virtue that characterizes the engineers and surveyors. In keeping with its responsibility, the CIAPR has worked closely with major public and private agencies in order to strengthen the infrastructure in Puerto Rico. Meals

There will be a working lunch for attendees during the event. Box lunches will be available to order and purchase at the attendee’s expense. Attendees also have the option to purchase breakfast, which will be distributed during onsite registration. Additional information, including menu items, will be emailed to confirmed registrants as it becomes available.

Parking

The college will provide parking for all attendees at no cost. Parking is in close proximity to the event location. A campus map and additional details will be provided after event registration.

Lodging

Information for nearby hotels will be provided to attendees after they register for the event.

Transportation

San Juan, Puerto Rico has many public transit options to accommodate all transportation needs for individuals attending the workshop. The Departamento de Transportación y Obras Públicas (DTOP) runs the public transportation system. The whole system, including the buses, trains and publicos (public vans) is called Alternativa de Transporte Integrado (ATI). The bus system is called the Autoridad Metropolitana de Autobuses (AMA). The light-rail train system is called the Tren Urbano. The whole public transportation system is most prominent in the San Juan metro area. Airport: Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) is close to the event location and nearby hotels. It is serviced by several major airlines.

Taxi: Taxi service is available from the airport to local destinations. You can hail a taxi in the street, or you can call one to come pick you up. If you don’t want to rent a car, the next best option is taking taxis around the metro area.

Bus service: Puerto Rico’s transportation system within the San Juan metro area is pretty good. However, the public transportation system does not encompass the entire island.
